Yesterday I ventured around San Diego with my camera in hand & with my man Randy Martinez. One of our stops was at Border Field State Park located at the US/Mexico Border. There was a big fiesta going on, and the sound of wonderful live music & laughter filled the air! Unfortunately we couldn't be a part of it because there was a big wall in our way, border patrols everywhere & it was on the other side. As I stood there taking photos, I thought what the world would be like if our governments worked to bring people together rather than separating us by labels, numbers, dollars & walls! We are an experiment can we live together grow together as one race the human race!
One of my favorite photographs I've captured to date features the symbol of wisdom, the owl. When I first spotted the owl, the scene reminded me of something I would see in a fantasy film. The owl's head was turned away from me, so I sat for a while quietly waiting until I captured this beautiful moment. Thanks to the owl I learned a valuable lesson in this moment; Sometimes in life it pays to be still, quiet & patient!
I saw this beautiful white pelican swimming with it's reflection on the dark water. The pelican floated around the water kicking from time to time. I stood very still so I wouldn't startle it & waited for the moment where the water was calm & clear so I could capture this moment. Find your path & enjoy your journey!
When I first approached the turtle, it was tucked in it's shell & sound asleep. As I've never seen a turtle this big before, I stood in awe & admired it's beautiful shell for a while. It felt like I was watching the turtle in slow motion as it came out of it's shell. I shot a number of photos & so happy I caught it's big yawn!
