Shortly before my grandfather passed away, he gave me a beautiful gift. I was visiting him in Puerto Rico while he was recovering from a Heart attack. After years of not really understanding my choice in life to be an artist, at the age of 92, my grandfather finally accepted me for who I am. He seemed excited as he explained to me the importance of keeping our culture alive through my art & music. We ventured to a music store & he proudly presented me with the national instrument of Puerto Rico, The Cuatro. For me The Cuatro will forever be a symbol of culture, love & acceptance.
