Native to Australia, like kangaroos, Koalas are marsupials. They live in Eucalyptus trees as the trees provide shelter, shade & food. Koalas only eat Eucalyptus leaves which are poisonous to most animals & have special bacteria in their digestive track that breaks down the toxicity. They know which eucalyptus leaves are less toxic & sleep a lot in order to conserve energy & digest their food. They're cute & smart! I captured this moment using my Canon EOS 80D & Zoom EF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 Lens.
